WNBA Hits the World Cup Break
On this week’s Shooting Lights Out, The Playmaker and Cole Johnson cover a busy week across basketball as the WNBA reaches its World Cup break.
Then we hit Running the Fastbreak as the WNBA reaches a crucial point in the season before attention shifts overseas. Team USA heads to Berlin for the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, but not with the roster originally expected. A’ja Wilson and Kelsey Plum are out, Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen are in, and the Americans begin Group D play against China before facing Italy and Czechia.
How does the World Cup break affect the WNBA playoff push, and is Team USA still the team to beat in Berlin?
